About KAWR

KAWR is the umbrella body representing Kenya’s private sector involved in material recovery from waste. Our members span the entire waste value chain—from informal waste pickers to industrial recyclers—committed to advancing sustainable, circular practices across the country.

Our 3Rs for a Circular Kenya

Kenya Recyclers is a national network championing waste management, recycling, and circular economy solutions.  At KAWR, we live by the principles that keep Kenya clean, green, and thriving—Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse.

Reduce

We work to minimize waste at the source by promoting responsible consumption, efficient production, and mindful resource use—ensuring less waste reaches our landfills.

Reuse

We promote extending the life of everyday items—encouraging creative repurposing, repair, and support for local second-hand markets.

Recycle

We give discarded materials a new life through recycling, conserving natural resources and reducing environmental pollution
