Kenya Association of Waste Recyclers (KAWR) is the umbrella organization representing the private sector players engaged in materials recovery from waste in Kenya. KAWR is a Non-profit Organization established in 2017, under section 10 of the Societies Act with a membership base across the country.
We promote a circular economy by supporting and advocating for activities that extract value from materials that would otherwise be discarded as waste. These include — but are not limited to — repair, refurbishment, recycling, composting, remanufacturing, and energy recovery.

DID YOU KNOW?
In Kenya, 38% of waste is collected, and less than 10% is recycled.
The rest threatens our environment and communities. KAWR members are changing the statistics—recovering materials, creating jobs, and building a waste management system that works for people and planet.”
